Sasha is a Miami native who now calls Nashville home. Musically influenced by Linda Ronstadt, The Eagles, Sheryl Crow, Trisha Yearwood and Miranda Lambert – Sasha's sound is the result of a perfect balance of California rock, rhythm & blues and the honest sensibilities of country music. She has had the opportunity to grace some of the top stages in Florida and Nashville including House of Blues, Hard Rock Café, Wildhorse Saloon and the Bluebird Café. Her performance and songwriting skills have allowed her the opportunity to open up for major acts such as Sister Hazel and have several song placements on major network television shows(MTV,CW). Since living in Nashville, she has been quickly gaining the respect of some of the top players and songwriters in town and is looking forward to exploring all of the doors Music City has been opening for her. Last summer Sasha had the opportunity to be part of 6CHIX at the Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagra Falls. (bio from Ariel's website)
As innate as breathing, Ariel has been singing since she could talk. Citing her earliest musical influence as her older brother, together they spent their childhood in Redland, Oregon listening to anything from classical composers and rock legends, to R&B stars and hip hop heroes. It wasn’t long before Ariel discovered her love of performing. Singing anywhere from solos in the church to in Oregon county fairs, her desire to be on stage was constantly growing. Upon entering college at Florida State University, Ariel quickly became more serious about her career in music and under the guidance of Ric Stein (former drummer of Sly and the Family Stone) became immersed in the funk music scene in Tallahassee. After graduating from Florida State at the age of 20 Ariel moved to Nashville, TN where she spent the next year recording her EP Supernova and playing venues such as The Basement, Mercy Lounge, Exit/In, and The Bluebird Café. Ariel is currently 22 years old and has opened for George Clinton, Dave Barnes, and has played many large music festivals in Florida. In the winter of 2012 Ariel completed a two week tour in Switzerland and has plans to complete a full European tour in the summer of 2014. (Customer reviews from iTunes)
A vision by nicoamericano In this new artwork re-released E.P, Ariel Michelle Hill from Port Orange, Florida expresses passionately her personal discoveries, feelings and experiences as a up and coming artist in today's musical world. And does so with a voice! Originally recorded in Nashville, Tennessee this great collection of tracks lets you get a feel for ariel's soulful folky genre and a glimpse of her vision as an independent striving performer. Amazing by Shredder1023Such a beautiful voice <3 Some of the Best I've Heard This Year (And From My Home State)! by Joshua BellamyAriel Hill has an excellent EP here! I absolutely love her voice, lyrics, and guitar playing. I discovered Ariel just last month when she was performing at a restaurant in the Daytona Beach area, where she lives. I heard her singing Sixpence None the Richer's 1999 hit "Kiss Me" and I was in love with her voice right away. When she took a break, I met her by chance on my way to the restroom. I praised her and her music. Ariel immediately shook my hand and introduced herself to me. We had a brief, friendly conversation and shared a hug before parting. She wanted to send me home with a copy of her EP, but I had already left the restaurant with my family. Now, I have her EP in digital form! I couldn't be happier. Very rarely do I get to hear some blues rock, especially by a young woman like Ariel Hill. I think she is the next Bonnie Raitt. |
